Harken goes the extra mile...once again!

Harken has been a synonymy of efficiency and performance for the racer and cruiser; regardless of the size or type of sailboat, Harken has always though about a solution for you.  This time, the fellows at Pewaukee pull another nice feature for racing keelboat programs that have to use the smallest possible line without needing to wrap the sheets or halyard ten times around the drum. The solution? Harken Performa Winches: light, racing oriented, radial drum with added grip to work on smaller diameter halyards. Vela Sailing Supply, considers this another "push forward" in the sailing industry and helps shows that this is where the sailing industry is aiming to.

Congratulations to the Harken team for another great step.

Best Christmas present for a cruising sailor!

When you cruise you want to enjoy, yes ENJOY, while you sail, even when you are trimming your sails or hoisting them or even hoisting your dinghy on the davits. Some boats come equipped with powerful electric self tailing winches, but most of the sailboats out there do not come with anything more than standard "human powered" winches. Well, the good news is that there is a solution for it. The fellow sailors at Sailology have developed and built the most popular electric winch handle, called WinchRite. You can buy it online at Vela Sailing Supply at the best price (if you want it better, please contact us) and free shipping to make it on time to be under the Christmas tree!

you can order online through our WinchRite page.
